China’s Huawei and Watch The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift OnlineSAIC are set to unveil the first model under their newly created electric vehicle brand, called Shangjie in pinyin, with an expected price range of RMB 170,000 to RMB 250,000 ($23,256 to $34,200), local media outlet 36Kr reported Tuesday. State-owned SAIC, a longtime partner of Volkswagen and General Motors, joins a growing list of Chinese automakers licensing smart in-car systems from the country’s technology giant, as these features have become a major selling point, especially for tech-savvy younger customers. The new model is designed and developed specifically for younger Chinese buyers and is expected to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year, the report said.
