Freeman Shen,Uncut Archives a former senior vice president at Volvo and founder of Chinese electric vehicle startup WM Motor, has reportedly been missing from his company in Shanghai for a few months and has recently moved to the US, allegedly to escape unpaid debts, people familiar with the matter told state-owned Shanghai Securities News on Tuesday. The sources added that Shen took a flight to New York after joining the IAA Mobility conference in Munich, Germany last month and following the migration of his family members to the US. WM Motor denied the report on Tuesday in a statement posted on the Chinese Twitter-like social media platform Weibo, saying its founder is currently dealing with overseas matters and a court in Shanghai is reviewing a pre-restructuring process filed by the company. The troubled EV maker added that it has set up a dedicated team and resolved a number of technical issues of its in-car system as reported by multiple car owners last week.
